The Danes went on to conquer an excellent more substantial location of England that afterwards turned often known as the Danelaw; but whereas the majority of the Danelaw was still English land, albeit in submission to Viking overlords, it was within the Kingdom of Jórvík that the only truly Viking territory on mainland Britain was ever recognized
